Which Xodus Nexus file to download
The releases page mixes three kinds of release. Only one of them is meant to be downloaded by hand:
| Release name | What it is | Download it? |
|---|---|---|
v0.3.9 → Xodus-Nexus-0.3.9-x86_64.AppImage | The launcher. | Yes |
v0.3.9 → …AppImage.sha512sum | Checksum for the launcher file. | Optional, to verify |
backend-v0.2.9 | The Nexus backend (patched Xodus) and its source code. | No, install it in Settings |
runtime-… | The Nexus runtime and its source code. | No, install it in Settings |
The backend and runtime releases exist so the launcher can fetch them, and so the corresponding source code is published as their licences require. After the launcher is running, install both from its Settings page.
How to download Xodus Nexus
- Open the Xodus Nexus releases page on GitHub.
- Find the newest release whose name is a plain version number such as v0.3.9, not one starting with backend or runtime.
- Under Assets, download
Xodus-Nexus-0.3.9-x86_64.AppImage. - Continue with the install guide.
How to check the download
Each launcher release includes a .sha512sum file with the SHA-512 checksum of the AppImage. Download it from the same release and run, in the folder with both files:
sha512sum -c Xodus-Nexus-0.3.9-x86_64.AppImage.sha512sum
The result should say OK. This check only means something for files from the official releases page; copies hosted elsewhere cannot be verified the same way.
